John Demos, editor and photographer, was born in Thessalonica (Greece) in 1944. After the conclusion of his studies in History of Art and Photography at the University of Chicago, in 1968 he went back to Greece and started to teach in several Universities of his Country.
At the same time, Demos collaborated with other photographers for the purpose of opening new centres dedicated to photography in Greece, as the Apeiron Photos (1988), representing renowned agencies such as Magnum, Sygma and Corbis.

He joined the editors of the European Publishers Award for Photography, participating as editor from 2002 to 2010.
His photographs have been exhibited at the Rencontres d’Arles in 2008.
