Sharon Ritossa was born in Trieste in 1987 and has Istrian origins. After graduating in Humanities from La Sapienza University in Rome, she specialised in photography at the ISIA of Urbino with a thesis on the Istrian exodus. Esodo Visivo, her dissertation project, is an archival study done in collaboration with the Regional Institute for Istrian Culture (IRCI) in order to restore a collective visual memory of the exodus. Today, she is a full-time photographer. Foibe is the fruit of her time as a scholarship-holder at Fabrica, Benetton Group’s communication research centre.
